friday-cat.jpg  Have one of those weeks?  Me too!

Submission Update:  3 weeks and counting with no word yet – so is no news good or bad…can’t think about it (and yes, I know 3 weeks is nothin’, I’ll quit my bitchin’ :) ).

Blogging gods are against me.:  I really do start out each week with the good intention of blogging at least 3 times a week…then life get’s in the way and I just don’t get to.  I’ll admit this week I was caught up in the drama over at Dear Author.  If you haven’t read the most recent bruhaha – it involves sex, or rather, just how much of our personal sex lives should we be broadcasting across the internet.  Interesting read, no matter what side you end up on.

Losing my mind?: No, wait.  It’s not my mind that’s missing, it’s my car that’s missing at the moment.  Yes, the Deb mobile was stolen right out of my driveway Monday night!  After getting over the initial shock, I’m now pissed and feeling violated.  I have to say it ruined my mood for the whole week…hard to write romance when you so down in the dumps.

Flower Catalogs! – Now here’s a bright spot in my week.  The flower catalogs have started arriving in my mailbox and the choices are dazzling!  With absolutely no landscaping done at our “new-to-us” house in probably at least 10 years, my yard is desperate need of color.  But how to choose?  Since the house is white/gray with cranberry shutters – I’m leaning towards reds and yellows in the front.  I’d love some roses and I’ll admit I’m partial to the peach/apricot shades…OMG, I could spend a fortune on bulbs without batting an eyelash!

That’s it for me this week…wherever you go, whatever your plans – have a great weekend! :)

I know it’s dating myself to say that I’ve loved John Travolta since he was a sweathog – but I have!  Then grease came along, and I was absolutely hooked.

When his career was revitalized with Pulp Fiction, I couldn’t have been more tickled.  He’s not one of those stars constantly making odd statements in the press or doing ridiculous things to get attention.

Plus, he’s fun to watch!  Oh those hot summer nights when we all wanted to be Oliva Newton John!

Happy Monday!

Happy FridayFirst, yeah! It’s Friday.  And that means I’m going to recap my week.   A little bit rant and touch of rave – it’s all here!  (Dont’ say I didn’t warn you.)

The weather – Okay, so I’m done with winter already.  I’m tired of threats of snow, icy cold rain.  Warm weather one day, frigid temperatures the next…even my daffodils are confused, as they’ve begun to sprout in my garden.  Bring on Spring!

More waiting on submissions - Into week two here, waiting to hear on my erotic novella…okay, I get that two weeks is a drop in the bucket in the manuscript submission universe, but it doesn’t make the waiting any easier.

Back to School – Hey, I’m a Mom.  The kids going back to school after a week vacation, yes, that was a high point of my week!

My hair – This is a two part rant, sorry.  First, I’ve got to pick a style.  Not as easy as you might think.  Since I’m over 40, I don’t want to be cutsie, I do kinda want to look my age (but I want to look hot for my age), does that make sense?  The bigger part of that problem is that I have a few bumps on my head, and as much as I’d like to say my brain is so large and I’m so smart, it’s had to expand in these little “smart growths” – that is not the case.  These lovely bumps run in my family and so, I’ve got to watch my hairstyle or people will start calling me lumpy.

So once I figure out what style would best suite me and my lumpy head, the next question is color and the sad truth is I’ve been going gray.  Really gray.  Now you would think this is a terrific opportunity to experiment with color, I’m a little nervous.  I’ve been sticking with auburn and brown shades (since that is my natural coloring), but darn if those blondes don’t call out to me from the shelves!  I’ll keep you posted :)

Spam, Spam, Spam – Maybe it’s the Dennis in my email address, but if I get another spam email about how to enlarge my dick, I think I might scream!  I currently get about 25 of these gems a day…any ideas on how to get rid of them?

Left over Birthday cake! – Celebrated my Mom’s birthday this week and she didn’t want to take the cake home (since she’s going away, it would only have gone to waste) – so yeah – more cake for me.  A big slice of canoli cake does have a way of reminding me I should be exercise more, but I’m trying my best to ignore it. :)

Have a great weekend!

Looking for something to add to ebook library – why not check out the newest release by my friend, Jennifer Leeland.

In the BDSM lifestyle, Catherine Lanyard is an extreme submissive with serious baggage. For years, she’s avoided her pain and hidden dark secrets. Now, an experienced Dom has broken through her barriers and forced her to face her fear. Sex was always a give and take for Justin Travers. He’d always kept his “lifestyle” practices separate from real life. But when Catherine blurs that boundary, he must decide what he really wants.

So, I’m sitting here this morning thinking about blog fodder.  I’ve come to the conclusion that there are some days I just don’t have anything terribly interesting to say.

I’ve been thinking I need some need ideas to spice up both my blog and the website – you know the fun stuff that keeps you interested enough to pop over to visit at least once a week.

Anyone like trivia?  Since this is, more or less, a blog revolving around my life as an aspiring romance writer – I decided some literary trivia might be fun.  But it’s just for fun, no prizes if you know the answer (at least not for now ;) )

For my first attempt, I decided to start fairly easy…I’ll come back and post the answer tonight.

What was the name of Little Orphan Annie’s dog?

Have fun – and see you later :)

day-lewis.jpgday-lewis-in-tux.jpg And the Best Actor Oscar went to: Daniel Day-Lewis for his role in “There will be blood.”  He look great in his tux, and although I didn’t see the movie – it was all the buzz that he was shoe-in for the oscar.  Congratulations to him!

But who can forget his role in ”Last of the Mohicans?”  Bloody movie aside, I remember being riveted to the screen at his performance.  I think it was the first time I even considered a guy with long hair as ”sexy” and boy did he fit the bill.

Happy Man Monday! :)

With the kids home from school this week, here’s something I know won’t go to waste (and since my daughter isn’t…gasp…a chocolate lover), these are a big hit around my house.

1/4 cup, plus 2 tbs softened margarine

1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup, plus 2 tbs butterscotch morsels

Beat margarine until creamy, gradually add brown sugar, egg and vanilla.  set aside.

Combine flour and next 3 ingredients.  Add to margarine mixture.  Stir in morsels.

Spoon mixture into a 9×9x2 Or an 8×8 square pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.

Enjoy!

Not that I’m counting – okay – not true.  Yes, my first request for a full of my first erotic novella (seeing a trend here?) is sitting on an editors desk!

So, as you might guess, I’m checking my email constantly.  But the funny thing is, when that email finally comes – knowing me – I’ll sit and stare at it, let the butterflies completely overtake my stomach and will probably wait an hour or more to open it.

The suspense is killing me!

On a more positive note, I’ve finally got the names of my newest hero and heroine down, so I’ve finally pulled out the sticky notes, started plotting and have made some really good progress on my newest project.

Happy Tuesday! :)

In honor of LOST finally hitting the airwaves once again (even if it is only for a short 8 episodes…waa…)
